Time

The time page is the space for easily tracking how time is spent, and will automatically open on the last view used.

Time is automatically costed during entry.

If you use Flexitime / TOIL then that too will be automatically refreshed as you enter working time.

There are different ways you can choose to enter or view your time, and you can flip between these at any time:-

  • Track
  • Planner
  • Journal
  • Grid
  • Timesheet

By default, you'll be looking at your own time for the current week, but you can use the date controls to look at previous weeks, or scroll forward into the future to plan your time.

You can also use delegate or approval controls (if you have rights) to view others' time here.

The 'time' menu also has a range of sub-menu options:-

  • Flextime Summary
  • Missing Timesheets
  • View Timesheets

Favourites

Add a favourite by using the star icon.

Favourite star

Favourites are used for quick-add into your timesheet view. They're a combination of Project and Activity (unless you don't book Activities, in which case your Favourites will be simply Proect-based).

Click the star icon again to un-Favourite an item.

Ordering Favourites

You can specify different display orders for your Favourites.

  • Most booked : most frequently used / most added to timesheet in last 30days, irrespective of duration
  • Recently used : most recently added to timesheet
  • Project : in Project ref order
  • Activity: in Activity ref order
  • Custom: as ordered vertically by user (drag up/down as you see fit)

The order you last used will be remembered between sessions.

Track

The Tracker view is an easy way to record time in realtime.

Planner

The planner presents a week (or less) calendar grid view where you drag and drop favourites or key events in the past or plan for the future to make up your timesheet.

This is arguably the most productive way of time recording as you're planning your time whilst filling-in your actual.

Forward planning isn't compulsory, however, and most users simply backfill their time here.

You can also use the quick timer against a favourite, which will track time in realtime.

Copying events on the Planner

Copy an existing event to a different day by simply moving the original event whilst holding the CTRL key.

Spreading events on the Planner

If you use the left or right drag handles on an existing event and drag left or right, this will in effect copy that event over the days where you resize.

This is a super fast way to copy time across a week or numerous days.

Journal

The Journal view is for those who don't care about when the work occurred, but simply record hours against Projects and Activity.

Grid

The Grid view is not interested in start/end time recording but allows quick keying by day of the week against Projects/Activities in an old-fashion timesheet grid layout.

Timesheet

This is a view that summarises time as if you printed an old-fashioned timesheet for the week in view.
